Jim was born Jan. 11, 1931, in Fort Worth to L.A. and Deloris Rainwater Stockton. He served in the United States Navy from 1948 until 1950. On April 2, 1977, Jim married Helen Wise. After his retirement, they enjoyed traveling in their RV, especially after Helen convinced him that it was OK to leave Texas. They were married 35 years.
Much of Jim's life was spent in service to others. He worked as a counselor at the ARC in Hurst and counselor and supervisor at Wichita Falls State Hospital. Jim volunteered with various organizations where his services included driving the sick to the doctor and serving as an ombudsman for the elderly. He was a friend of Bill W. for over 44 years. Jim always had time to help someone in need; his charity and love were gifts to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
