After receiving his GED, Jimmy worked as a long-haul truck driver, car transporter and owned his own printing press company before he retired in 2007. He was a Reserve for the Fort Worth Police Department from 1975 to 1992, President of the Texas Ponies of Americas Club and avid fan of the Dallas Stars.
Jimmy married the love of his life Donna Kay Butalla on April 14, 1973 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a proud member of South Hills Baptist Church for 27 years.
He is preceded in death by mother and father, father-in-law (Edward Butalla), sister-in-law (Sharon Terry), brother-in-law (Paul Lester), brother-in-law (Robert Matthews).
He is survived by wife Donna Terry of Burleson, son and daughter-in-law Chad and Anne Terry of Crowley, three grandchildren Jackson, SadieJo, and Max Terry of Crowley, brothers Frank Terry and wife Kathie of Fort Worth and Lawrence Wayne Terry of Quitman, sisters Patsy Lester of Winnsboro and Mary Matthews of Commerce, OK, mother-in-law Robbie Butalla of Fort Worth, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Doug and Dee Ford, and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation with the family for Jimmy will be held Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX 76134.
His memorial service will be Friday, July 1, 2022 at 10:00 AM at South Hills Baptist Church, 7350 Granbury Road, Fort Worth, TX 76123.
