I am not sad that you are in heaven. I am sad that my girls will miss out on having the best grandma in the world to support them in their lives. I love you more than I can ever convey. You made my life easier even though yours was hard. Hug Jesus for me and I will miss you everyday until I see you again in heaven. I have learned how many lives you have touched and the joy you brought to so many. This has made it easier on me knowing that your life was lived to the fullest. I will love you forever.

Joanie Mama, you will forever be in my heart. You taught me the ropes when I was the brand new girl at AMH so many years ago. You made me 2 beautiful afghans, you introduced me to my first furry baby, Ariel, and even gave me a puppy shower at work. Then I had the privilege of going to New York with you and some of your family members. I'm so sorry I didn't keep contact like I should have but I'm so glad I got to see you a couple of weeks ago, hold your hand and see your eyes open even for a moment. You even mouthed to me that you loved me. I was out of town for 2 weeks and just found out about your passing today and was so sad that I missed your service. You can keep my REAL Momma company now until we meet again. P.S. Won't it be SOMETHING to finally celebrate your Christmas birthday by Jesus' side!!

I worked with "mama joan" at Air Logix for many years. She was a wonderful lady. She kept me laughing as we worked the night shift with her wonderful humor. She always encouraged me and gave me great advice. I remember the yummy nuts she would bring us at christmas and how happy she was when I had my daughter. She was truly a blessing and one of the sweetest people I have been blessed to know. I love you mama joan-Pamela Sparkman

What a blessing Joan was to me during my battle with cancer never failing to contact me someway each week to keep me uplifted through those dark months of treatment. She truly was my angel on earth giving hope to me when it seemed very distant. She now is my heavenly one. Love you Joan.

To the family of Joan: "I will lift up my eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help, my help cometh from the Lord, who made Heaven and Earth." Ps. 121:1-2. Your mom will truly be missed, everyday I would ask her, Joan how are you today and would always get the answer: "Pretty good for a old lady" with a smile has big as Texas on her face, even when she was in pain. Such a sweet spirit!
