Mr. Joe Bonimo Williams was born on September 10, 1928, in Marshall, Texas, to Augustus Williams and Adrian Cooper-Williams. Affectionately known as “Sweet” or “JB”, he was the third of thirteen children. At an early age, Mr. Williams demonstrated a deep sense of responsibility, leaving school after the third grade to help care for and support his family.
Marshall, Texas was not only his birthplace, but also the place where he met and married the love of his life, Missionary Zenobia D. Moody. Their beautiful union was blessed with 57 years of marriage and four precious children: Joe Ree Williams, Donald Ray Williams, Bobby Joe Williams, and Linda Jean Williams-Clark. The couple later relocated to Fort Worth, Texas, where they continued building their life and legacy together.
After relocating to Fort Worth, Texas, he began working as a butcher at the Old Swift Packing House. He faithfully served there for 17 years until the plant closed. Joe Bonimo later carried his strong work ethic to the City of Fort Worth, where he dedicated more than 20 years of service before retiring.
Deacon Joe B. Williams was a faithful and devoted member of The Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church for more than 76 years. Throughout his many years of service, he worshiped and served under the leadership of Pastor Smith Carey, Pastor T.H. Davis, Pastor Ralph W. Emerson Jr., and most recently, Pastor Ralph S. Emerson. In addition to his service as a deacon, he worked as a janitor for many years.
On February 20, 2026, Joe B. Williams peacefully transitioned from this life with his oldest daughter by his side.
He was welcomed into heaven by his parents; his beloved wife of 57 years; eleven siblings; and his cherished daughter, Linda Jean Williams-Clark.
