

Jody was a dedicated catering organizer for the Green Oaks Hotel, a renowned establishment that hosted countless celebrities, including the legendary Elvis Presley, who she loved, for nearly 50 years. A lifelong member of Edgecliff Methodist Church, Jody devoted her time and talents to various church activities. She volunteered at the church office and library and was an active participant in the United Methodist Women’s group, fostering community and support among her peers. In addition to her contributions to her church, Jody was a passionate animal rights activist. She dedicated her life to advocating for the welfare of animals, embodying her love and compassion for all creatures. Jody will be remembered for her generosity, love for animals, and the many lives she touched throughout her journey.

Survived by two daughters, Christine Anne Slaton, Courtney Thomason; two grandchildren, Amanda and Dylan Slaton; two siblings, Joanne Sitzlow, Tommy Motl; many more family and friends.
Jody is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Charles J. and Ottie Motl.
A graveside will be held Monday, August 26, 2024 at 10am at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth, Texas. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her cherished charity, Alley Cat Allies (alleycat.org), to continue her legacy of care for animals in need.
