The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday, July 9, 2020 from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral Service will be held, Friday, July 10, 2020 at 12pm. Both services will be held at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel.
He was born on January 26, 1937 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a much-loved son, brother, father, uncle and great friend to many. John was a star football player at Northside High School. He won the 1955 Thom McAn Trophy for most valuable player in Fort Worth. He also won a football scholarship to TCU. John had a 30+ year career in data processing with General Dynamics, Bell Helicopter and Ken Davis Industries.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joe C. and Elizabeth Gregory. He is survived by his daughters, Melony Cartwright (Brian McDaniel) of North Richland Hills and Melinda DeCastro of San Antonio; grandson, Chase DeCastro of San Antonio; sisters, Alice Hunter of Haltom City and Elizabeth "Babe" Harlow of Graham; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
