John was born November 24, 1924 in Alvarado, Texas to the parentage of John Middleton Martin & Ila Mae Waller. John had five brothers and one sister. He attended Mansfield High School, and graduated on May 26,1941. John would later work for 45+ years for General Dynamics, Fort Worth Division.
John met and married the love of his life, Margaret Helen Cure. They were married on Saturday, November 2, 1946 at South Riverside Drive Baptist Church. John and Margaret shared 57 years of love and happiness, until Margaret's passing on January 7, 2004.
In his lifetime, John was a Master Mason for 65 years with Scottish Rite. John dutifully served his country in the United States Army, enlisting on Saturday, February 13, 1943, and separating on Friday, January 11, 1946. Notably, he served as an Airborne Engineer in the 11th Airborne Division during WW II, completing two combat jumps in the Philippines and serving in the honor guard battalion for General Douglas McArthur.
John Marion Martin, age 97, of Cleburne, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022.
John is survived by his brother Kenneth Martin of Burleson, Texas, and many nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
John was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Helen Martin; his father John Martin, his mother Ila Martin, his brothers Paul, Joseph, Patrick, and Wendell Martin; and sister Margie Parish.
