

John Reichling, 84, of Hurst died on June 29th, 2018 from cancer of the esophagus. John was born in Fond du Lac, Wisc. to John and Margaret (Konen) Reichling. He attended Catholic schools there, graduating in 1953 as valedictorian and class president of St. Mary Springs Academy. He attended the Univ. of Wisconsin (Madison) on scholarships and earned a Bachelors in Business in 1957. In 1958, he married Dorothy Conway of Madison and they had two sons, (David and Michael). John served his country in the US Army Reserve, with two periods of active duty. After several management positions, he decided to concentrate in Production Planning, earning an MBA from Univ. of Wisc. (Milwaukee) in 1968. He spent the remainder of in career in that field and earned all relevant certifications. He lived and worked in the Milwaukee, St. Louis and Chicago areas, for various companies and as a consultant.
John enjoyed the outdoors and made numerous driving trips through the American West. Following his retirement, he moved to the woods outside Mauston, Wisc. He thoroughly enjoyed its beauty and solitude. John lettered in high school in football and basketball and always followed his favorite teams, including the Cubs, Packers, Brewers and especially his Wisconsin Badgers. He was an avid reader of books and followed politics closely. He kept correspondence with relatives and old friends and wrote poetry. In 2018, he moved to Texas to be closer to his son’s family prior to developing health issues.
John is survived by his son Michael (Sharla) Reichling, granddaughter Laura (Collin) Geninatti and great- grandson Shane Geninatti, all of Fort Worth. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Joan Gerlach and son David Reichling.
