Johnie was fiercely independent, strictly loyal, and most of all, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved to hunt, fish and all things related to the outdoors but his favorite hobby was sharing adventures in his fifth wheel trailer with Sandy, his wife of 70 years.
Anyone who knew Johnie Green, knows how much he loved his Dallas Cowboys. Thanksgivings were always scheduled around the Cowboys and you better not call him during a game if you wanted to reach him!
Many people called Johnie Green a friend. He was always willing to help others and show up wherever and whenever he was needed. He worked as a prominent gunsmith and an accomplished machinist but he was a jack-of-all-trades who could figure out how to build or do anything that he put his mind to.
Johnie was preceded in death by Sandra Ann Green, his wife of 70 years; both parents and siblings Willie, Sylvester, Albert, Faye, Nella and Rosalie. He is survived by his children Sherry (Allen) Spinner and Curtis (Cathleen) Green; grandchildren Dr. Kimberly Lavin, Cody (Vivian Le) Johnson, Cameron Green and Carson Green, great-grandchildren Connor Johnson, Camden Johnson, Lily Lavin and Becket Lavin; and numerous friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 5:30 to 7pm at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at 2pm also at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park.
