She was born September 29, 1935 in Dallas, TX. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Martha Cawthon. Josie was the beloved wife of 62 years, to the late Elmo Wiley. She was a devoted mother to her son, Guy Wiley, wife Regina, her late son, Dale Wiley, wife Christy, and her daughter Paula Cummins, husband Rod. She was a loving Grandma/Granny to 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and a dear aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her sister Scherry Barnes. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, husband, and one son.
She will be remembered for her love of reading, cooking large family meals, gardening, sewing, drawing and painting, watching westerns and NCIS, but, most of all, for always being incredibly supportive of her family.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Chimes Chapel at Laurel Land Funeral Home & Memorial Park of Ft Worth. 7100 Crowley Rd. Ft. Worth, TX 76134, followed by a graveside moment of prayer.
She will be deeply missed, but her love and memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Guy Wiley, Matthew Wiley, Benjamin Cummins, Nathan Cummins, Eric Cummins, William Cummins and Samuel Cummins.
