Joyce Kathryn Martin

Joyce grew up in Forest Hills, TX, and graduated as salutatorian from Polytechnic High School in 1954. She was married to Franklin D. Martin on August 19, 1961, in Fort Worth, TX. Joyce was a legal secretary until her husband Frank opened a printing company, and she helped him with his business for many years. Frank and Joyce had a beautiful place in Joshua for over 50 years and recently moved back to Fort Worth.

Many of their grandsons’ favorite childhood memories are of the times they spent with Grandma and Grandpa in Joshua. Joyce was a devoted wife and mother, and she was known for her generous hospitality and delicious cooking. She was a voracious reader and almost always had at least one book by her side. Joyce and Frank’s great love for one another was evident to all who knew them. She will be dearly missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert Sager, mother Gladys Sager, brother Robert Sager, sister Dorothy LaNelle Sager Beach, and son Robert Curtis Martin.

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 65 years, Frank D. Martin; daughters Angela Martin Kiger (Brian), Debra Martin, and Brenda Martin Holloway (Mark); grandsons Gregory Roper (Carlie) and Mark Roper; and great grandsons Jude Roper and Ryan Roper.

Funeral arrangements will be private.
