Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
J.J. was born April 23, 1935, in Duval County to Rafael C. and Guadalupe Villareal Benavides. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He had a very good relationship with the Lord. He loved garage sales, flea markets, being outdoors, working on lawnmowers and riding his bike.
J.J. was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Survivors: Loving wife of 57 years, Olga Benavides; daughter, Lydia "Cindy" Cruz and husband, Myron; daughter, Wendy Mitchell and husband, Graeme; son, Gary Benavides and wife, Nicole; son, Johnny Benavides; son, Philip Benavides and wife, Mary; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Heribeto Benavides and wife, Aurora; sister, Lydia Garcia; and many other loving family members and friends.
