Remembering Fondly Juan Earl Williams, Jr.
Juan was born April 28, 1966 to loving parents, Juan Earl Williams and Bernice Johnson Williams in Big Spring, Texas; the oldest of three, and the last to depart. His early education was in the Big Spring public school system.
He left high school and immediately went to work. His first real job was at Marcy Elementary and Moss Elementary Schools as a custodian. His sights higher, he found employment as a janitor at the Veterans Hospital in Big Spring. With even higher aspirations, he began to pursue a career in nursing. With grit and determination he obtain licensing as an LVN; not satisfied with “well enough,” two years later he got his RN license. He went from mopping floors at the VA Hospital to offering healing hands as a certified and licensed Registered Nurse.
Juan left Big Springs for the big city life of Fort Worth he arrived and landed jobs at several nursing facilities; one in particular was Universal Health. There he cross paths with a beautiful, gracious and affection young woman who he wooed and married in 2007. They became a blended family, his daughter, Leandra Cross and son, Marquin Harris; grafted in sons: Ryan Ellison, Mark Meeks, Jr., and Christopher Meeks; and their very special joy, his niece, Tybri Williams.
He accepted Christ at an early age at his home church in Big Spring where he sang in the choir. His bride introduced him to the Como First Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Kenneth Jones, Jr., he united and completed his orientation in record time. He enjoyed the Marriage Ministry Couples Retreat, Sunday Services and Men’s Ministry when his work schedule would permit.
Juan loved every genre of music and enjoyed watching movies for hours on end. With the television dark and the music silent, early Wednesday morning, August 18, in his perfect position in the bed the Lord called him from his earthly bed to his heavenly home. Preceding him in death are his parents Juan Sr. and Bernice Williams; brother, Shawn Williams and sister, Angela Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Paulette Williams; daughter, Leandra Cross (KC); son, Marquin Harris; niece, Tybri Williams; stepsons: Ryan Ellison, Mark Meeks Jr. (Stephanie), and Christopher Meeks; nine grandchildren; an uncle, aunts, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
