Jurgen was born in Trier, Germany, May 12, 1946, to Barbara Hasbron. Around age 6 he moved to the United States. Fort Worth became his home after being stationed at Carswell Air Force Base. Upon leaving the Air Force he chose to make construction his career. For 20 years he worked as a contractor for several home improvement stores.
Although construction was how he chose to make a living, his real passion, aside from his family, was art. He sculpted in several different mediums with bronze as his favorite. His sculptures were Southwest and wildlife in nature. Jurgen was a truly gifted and self-taught artist. His art is shared not only in this country but also has returned to his place of birth. Jurgen's prized sculpture was the life size bust of a Texas longhorn. Working with the German segment of Fort Worth Sister Cities organization, together they donated this bronze to Trier, Germany, to be installed in a garden for their own "Sister Cities" organization.
He had many accomplishments in his life, but his family was his dearest. Jurgen was a devoted family man and his grandchildren were his "prized possessions." Family gatherings were most important as he loved having everyone around him. All of his friends were dear to his heart and he always kept them close. Losing a man that was larger than life leaves his family and all that knew him with a void that will last forever.
Survivors: Cheryl Hasbron, wife of 29 years, Angela Hasbron, daughter, Tammy Hubbard, daughter, Kyle Hubbard, grandson, Kendall Hubbard, granddaughter. In addition he is survived by two brothers and four sisters and their families. He is also survived by an uncle and three cousins and their families in Trier, Germany.
