Justin Dwain Landes

The family also wishes to thank Dr. Mary Milam and her staff in Fort Worth, Dr. Madhuri Vusirikala and her staff in Dallas, and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

Justin was born in Stephenville on Oct. 18, 1960. He graduated as salutatorian from Crowley High School in 1979 and then earned an engineering degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1985. Justin married Debra Carter on May 8, 2004. He was president and owner of JD Landes Inc. as a civil and environmental engineer, and he was a member of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers. He enjoyed skiing, the outdoors and cars, but his passion was cattle ranching. Prior to his illness, he was actively involved in the Beefmasters Breeders Union. He also contributed to Feed the Children, the National Wild Turkey Federation and several other non-profit organizations.

Survivors: His parents, Coy and Annette Landes; sisters, Lynnette and husband, Ken, of Burleson and Nicole Landes and Matt Mangum; nephew, Cooper Burleson; and his wife, Debra Carter and her children, Charli, Rebekah and Crockett. He will also be remembered by numerous loved ones from the Reed, Landes and Burleson families as well as dear friends and business associates.
