

FORT WORTH -- Katherine Howell Cunningham, 95, passed away June 2, 2016 in Fort Worth, her lifelong home. Katherine was born May 28, 1921. She was a member of Polytechnic UMC for over 60 years where she was the leader in United Methodist Women. She retired from Fort Worth ISD after 39 years service. She was a member of Polytechnic Eastern Star for over 50 years and served as Worthy Matron; Fort Worth Women's Club; Entre Nous and Rejebian Book Clubs; Cadmium Society; Edgecliff Village Garden Club; Texas Retired Teacher's Association; and Texas Wesleyan and Texas Christian Women's Exes Associations. Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle and F.G. Howell; brother, F.G. Jr.; sister, Imogene Plumblee; and beloved husband of 59 years, Will Cunningham. She is survived by sons, Claude and wife, Elizabeth of Mansfield, and Louis of Arlington. Grandson Jon, wife Alisha and sons Tyler and Colby of Arlington; grandson, Brian, wife, Katie and Children Audrey, Bennett and Mabel of Cibolo, TX; and granddaughter Lauren of Spring, TX. Her long life was blessed by a large number of extended family members, a wide circle of close friends, and many former students.
