Katie completed her degree at Tarrant County College and become a registered nurse in 2003. From 2003 to 2010, Katie worked at Plaza Medical Hospital. She was then recruited to work at John Peter Smith Hospital, where she helped begin a cardiovascular care init. Here she was a trainer, educator and coordinator. She enjoyed gardening, reading and movies. She dearly loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors: Son, Ethan Giffen; parents, Duane and Pam Giffen; sister, Amanda Naidl and husband, Andrew; niece, Hannah Naidl, all of Fort Worth; grandmother, Dorothy Giffen Barber of Redwood Falls, Minn.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
