Larry Dale Mathias, the most kind, gentle, caring, and giving man to walk among us, went to the Lord's care on the 25th of March, 2017. Larry is survived by his mother, Fran Mathias, his wife, Mary Mathias, and his two sisters, Brenda and her husband Randall Marler and Sharon and her husband Emilio Gonzalez and their families. Larry was born in Salina, Kansas, on June 17th, 1959. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics at Lamar University, and his Masters of Science in Information Technology Program Management at Central Michigan University. He was a Captain in the United Stated Air Force, serving for over 12 years, receiving dozens of awards and honors, negotiating billion dollar contracts, and managing complex, cross system programs. He loved providing education and demonstrations of cutting edge technologies for events held by the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, and was an avid photographer with a talent for capturing great shots that he always shared with family and friends. Larry had the beautiful gift of making everyone he was around simply feel better...by making them smile, helping them to look at things differently, or just having a funny comic or joke that he would present if he saw someone was having a bad day or was worried about something. He was loved deeply and has left us all a legacy of warmth and kindness to which to aspire. Services for Larry are to be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX, at noon, Tuesday, April 4th, 2017, followed by a procession to the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, for the military honors ceremony and burial.
