Larry Allen Nyhus

Larry Allen Nyhus (59), passed away unexpectedly, on November 11th, at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas following surgery

First son of Ordell and Florence Nyhus, Larry graduated from Fosston, Minnesota High School in 1974. Following high school, Larry moved to Atlanta, Georgia. In Georgia, he worked for a trucking company before finding his real calling in life with the United States Navy.

Larry's Naval field of expertise was in explosives. As an expert in his field, he was called upon by the Secret Service to serve as an advance scout for V.I.P.s on several International Missions. Including sweeps on foreign trips for Vice-President Dan Quayle, Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton. Larry concluded his service career in Florida as an explosives instructor for all branches of the military. After his 20 years of service, Larry retired in Texas to relax and enjoy the sun and warmth of the south.

Larry was proceeded in death by his Parents, Ordell and Florence Nyhus, Fosston, Minnesota; Grandparents Hannah (Landsverk) and Peter Nyhus; Jerry and Lillian (Brtek) Preisler; Uncle and Aunt Robert and Lorraine (Nyhus) Olien.

Larry is survived by his siblings, Steve Nyhus (Fosston, Minn.), Randy Nyhus (Fort Worth, TX), Patti Nyhus Head (Bemidji, Minn); Three nieces, Cassie (Alex) Clark, Mandee Nyhus, and Halle Nyhus. Great nephew Jaxen Ordell Clark. Uncle Ed and Aunt Dory (Preisler) Pavek. And Cousins Mary-Beth, Joan and Julie. Services yet to be determined.
