Laurie, or Lala, as her family knew her, was born in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a graduate of Haltom High School. Laurie, later in life moved to Florida and lived there for about ten years. She was a dedicated employee at the Palm Beach post for about 10 years. During that time, she welcomed one of her life’s greatest loves, her son Jake. Laurie enjoyed spending time outdoors, going to the lake with family, and always came up with wild and creative ways to have fun with friends.
Laurie had dedicated much time to caring for her mother. She enjoyed cooking for her family and trying new recipes. In her down time, she also enjoyed caring for her faithful furry companions, her dogs Bella and Cheechee. Though Laurie has been called too soon, a beloved daughter, sister, mother and friend has left an indelible mark in the hearts of those who loved her.
The family invites friends to join them for a Memorial Gathering on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel from 1pm to 3pm.
Laurie will now be reunited with her mother, Lynda “Susie” Holmes, who precedes her in death.
Left to cherish Laurie’s memory are her son, Jake Fought; Father, Paul D. Holmes; sisters, Lisa Dumler, and her husband, Duane, Tressie Anderson, and her husband, Scott; brother, Richard Holmes; Niece and nephew, Alyssa and Logan Dumler and numerous other relatives and friends.
