

Laveda Goodspeed was born September 25, 1954, to the parentage of Frank James and Searcy Louise Collier. She graduated from Kaufman High School in Kaufman, TX, and moved to Fort Worth, TX in the early 1980’s. She married the love of her life, Lonnie Goodspeed on March 26, 1986, and remain until his passing in 2004. Laveda answered the Master’s call on December 14, 2025. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Laveda’s commitment to her community, church, and family were at the center of her life. She is currently the vice president for the Church at Philadelphia Board of Directors; other roles at the church include Chief Financial Officer since 2005; First Lady from 2003 - 2004; First Lady Emeritus 2004 - 2005; Ministry leader for the TCAP Golden Girls; active volunteer and servant for the TCAP food pantry.
She was also a member of the Red Hat Society; The Progressive Alliance of Cultured Women - Fort Worth Association of Federated Women’s Clubs; founding president and current treasurer for The Historic Rosedale Park Association; The Slingshot Queens; founding member of the Road Runners Slingshot Club; CFO for Goodspeed Construction; Director of Finance for DVA Productions, Inc.
Laveda was preceded in death by her mother, her husband Lonnie Goodspeed, her sister Victoria Collier, and her grandson Sherrod Goodspeed. Laveda leaves to cherish her memory, her father, Frank James Collier; her brothers James A. Jones (Alice), Marshall A. Collier (Vanessa), and Darren Collier. She also leaves her five children Sheresa Strawder (Marvell); Sheran Goodspeed Keyton, Darrell Vinson, Donnell Vinson, and Brian Goodspeed. Grandchildren: Sheronda Goodspeed; Sheridan Keyton, Sheresia Goodspeed, Braniya Rhodes, Brian Goodspeed Jr, Briaysia Goodspeed, Ciara Jackson, Paige Vinson, D’Aeysha Vinson, D’Andra Vinson, MyKayla Vinson, and Bryce Vinson; plus, a host of great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
