Lee Monad Smith stepped into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Saturday, February 2, 2019. A resident of Burleson, Texas for more than 40 years. He never met a stranger or a person he didn't like. According to his friends and family he was a master at checkers and never turned down a good game of horseshoes. Many nights were spent playing pinochle with his wife and their dearest friends. He retired from the United States Air Force in 1974 after 20 years of service. In 2005 he retired from Miller Brewing Company after 29 years as a dedicated worker.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Verna Smith; sons Charles Edward, and John Ray; parents Ray smith and Opal Smith; brothers Ray, Carl, Earl, Harry and Larry and sister Barbara.
Survivors: Lee has left his memories to be cherished by daughter, Kathy Hoyt; son, Jeff Smith; grandchildren, Leah Lopez, Michael Hoyt and wife Kelly, and Jessica Welch; three great grandchildren; brother, Robert Smith and wife Beverly and numerous nieces and nephews and friends who were more like family.
