

Leona Hicks was born on November 28th, 1960, to parents, Johnny and Donnie Jackson in Hereford, TX. Leona fell in love with and married, Reverend Roderick Hicks September 14th, 1982. Leona started working at a young age. She was a certified nursing assistant. She loved to help people and worked in customer service for many years. She worked at Citi Bank, Chase Bank, and later worked in customer service for Walmart. She also worked in the family business, 3D Janitorial. She also operated a catering service, Two Sisters Catering, along with her sister.
Leona had many talents including writing. Her poetry is displayed in the National Library of Congress.
Leona accepted Jesus Christ at a young age. She loved the Lord and church. She attended Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. Leona and Rev. Hicks later moved their fellowship to New Mount Carmel Baptist Church, under the teaching of Rev. R.A. Toliver. Leona served as a Deaconess and beloved teacher in the church nursery, Andrews Pantry.
She leaves behind her husband, Reverend Roderick Hicks; mother, Donnie Phillips; her mother-in-law, Chloree Hicks; brothers, Johnnie (LaRhonda) Jackson, Tommy (Karen) Jackson, Ronnie (Penny) Jackson, and Lewis Jackson; her sisters, Sherrie Jackson, Louella Jackson, Joyce Jackson, Ginger (Darren) Dawkins, Tonya (Marc) Veasey; and her sister-in-law, Janet (Femi) Woods.
She also leaves behind many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, friends, “church” family and children, and coworkers.
