Sunrise December 24, 1961 – Sunset: June 16, 2022
Leonard Green, Jr. was born on December 24, 1961, to the late Leonard Green Sr, and Elva Green Beverly. Leonard also known as “Jr.”, transitioned from this earthly life on June 16, 2022. Jr. was born in Sneads, Florida in 1961. At the age of 10 months, Jr., his mother, and dad, left Sneads, Florida for a new life in Los Angeles, California.
At an early age, Leonard had a fascination with fast cars and wild driving. At the age of 14 years old, Jr. purchased his first car. He would joy ride around the neighborhood with Daron and his cousin, Leisa Johnson. To keep his parents from knowing, he would hide the car around the corner from their home. This was Jr’s passion, always fiddling and working on cars. He loved to showboat his 1962 Chevy Impala as he did his Low Riding all over California. He was a master mechanic when it came to cars, he could take a car apart and put it back together.
Leonard, accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at early age.
He loved the Lord. The year of 2007 he began worshipping with Strangers Rest Baptist church, Fort Worth, TX, where he later joined in 2009. He was an active member and attended Sunday morning worship, Wednesday night bible study, and whenever he was not on the road, he participated in many events.
Leonard’s, passion for driving lead him to Transportation Logistics Industry. He began driving for Swift Transportation in 1994 and in 1998 purchased his first 18-wheeler. He also worked at PTL. During his cross-country driving, he fell in love with the beautiful state of Texas, which is a big different from California. He spent a lot of turnaround time in Texas. Eventually moving to Texas in 2002, where he leased from NORCO Trucking Corporation. All this proof of his love for driving and Texas, until the Lord called him home.
Leonard loved his Companion/Longtime friend, Virginia Wilson, her family, and her Grandkids, they gave him life and keep him going. He loved spending time with them and attending any event they had going, from baseball games to graduations.
