Linda Rose Dyer, 78, passed away June 14, 2019. Born in Tucson, Arizona on August 13, 1940, she was the daughter of Lillie V and E.L. “Skinner” Chapman. Linda grew up in Marana and Benson, AZ, but after the death of her father, the family moved to Fort Worth. She returned to Benson to graduate from high school in 1958, and in 1959, she married her high school sweetheart David Dyer of Benson. After a brief stay in Sierra Vista, AZ, they settled permanently in Fort Worth in 1960.
Early in her career she worked as a secretary before raising two children, did typing for seminary students, and then started a career as an office manager for a tax consulting office, and later with a small oil business started by her brother-in-law.
Linda was and quilter, and enjoyed socializing with her quilting friends, traveling to retreats and to Alaska for a quilting cruise. Linda was a book lover, and followed the series of many mystery and suspense writers throughout her life. A devoted animal lover, she volunteered her time with the humane society when she was able, and was the proud adopter of four dogs throughout her adult life.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jean, and her husband David. Linda is survived by her son, Wayne Dyer (Becky); her daughter, Michele Eggleston (Danny); and her granddaughter, Ashley Eggleston Keeton (Josh); and her step-grandsons Charlie Eggleston (Katrina) and Cody Eggleston (Paige).
