Linda Sue Smith

Linda Sue Smith, formerly Bryson, died peacefully on January 9, 2025, at the age of 80. Born June 27, 1944, and the last of three siblings, Linda grew up in River Oaks, Texas, where she graduated from Castleberry High School in 1963. She attended Ranger Junior College, after which she worked as a histologist at St. Joseph’s and Peter Smith hospital for 30 years.

Linda met J.R. on a blind date in 1971, and about six months later on September 3, 1971, they married. A few years later Linda gave birth to her first born son, Robert and 3 years after that Linda gave birth to her second son, Toby.

Linda spent her life ensuring the well-being of her family and friends - those she knew intimately and those she met along the way. She loved taking photos of all her loved ones and many travels, having many picture books filled to the brim with memories.

She is preceded in death by her parents Troy Hilliard Bryson and Opal Jo Key, her brother Billy Jo Bryson and sister Troy Francis Bryson-Ewing. She is survived by her faithful husband, James Richard Smith, her two sons Robert Jay and Toby Harold Smith, 3 grandchildren Maya, Logan, and Merrin Smith and many nieces and nephews.

She will be missed, but also fondly remembered as a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

A celebration of life for Linda will be held Monday, January 20, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Shannon Rufe Snow Drive Funeral C, 6001 Rufe Snow Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76148.
