Lollie- The men of HHB 5/15FA will miss you.  As the Company Commanders wife- you were always there to help our wives & families at Ft Ord.  I have been very lucky to have had you as a post-service friend to write and keep up with others in the unit.  My thanks to you and all of your family for all you have done for us over the years.  My prayers to "Skip" have been made and I wish him well in the future.

I have many happy memories of the times together that Lollie and I had, both when I was a child and as an adult.  You will be missed!  Please let my Mom and Dad know how much I miss them and I will see them when God is ready.
My prayers in the coming days will be for Lollie's family and if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.

I will miss Aunt Lollie for many reasons.  
I remember staying at her house in Odessa.  Leslie and I would go to the park and play all day.  If I remember correctly, Leslie liked the swing and the slide but I preferred playing on the old WWII airplane but most of the time the trip ended with a picnic at the park or in her back yard. 
It wasn't long until the family moved then I would receive cards, letters, and packages from all over but I particularly remember the ones from Germany.  Aunt Lollie always found such unique and cool gifts.  As a youngster, I was overjoyed when she toured a candy factory and she sent me what I remember as a shoebox-sized package of Gummy Bears…I'd never even heard of gummy candies before and I ended up on a sugar high for weeks!  
Most of all I will miss her stories.  She was always good for a story or two and I always enjoyed the stories related to trips she and Uncle Harold had taken while in Europe.  She was definitely something of a Globetrotter in her day and she would absolutely light up when describing foreign places and elaborating on the people she met along the way…she never met a stranger and she was always ready to welcome someone into her world and into her home.  
She will truly be missed by all of us that knew and loved her.

Schnitzel.  I had heard of it before... Wiener Schnitzel, yes, ... but Jager Schnitzel?, never knew there was a difference.  Lollie Mae asked me which I wanted.  I'd never heard of Jager, so I asked for that.  It was delicious!!!  Lollie had learned of it in Germany.  Later I went to a German place, and hers was better!   Lollie loved traveling.  She loved the Army.  She loved her family!!!  She would have been a great 'Great Grandmother'.  She will be missed..

Lollie you were a wonderful lady.  I will miss you so much.  I could not come over to see you cause of my health myself and you could not come to see me cause you felt too bad to.  But we talked on the phone.  I know that last time you took me to the doctor you could hardly make it and you just did it for me.  I appreciated it so much.  We were both in the same boat.  You knew I loved you I didn't have to say it and I know you loved me.  You will be in heaven with the rest of our family, give them all a big hug for me and tell them I will join yall all someday. I will miss Lollie's phone calls.  She could call and give me more news than 10 others could.  May God bless all of you and may you feel our Lord's sustaining love.  Love to all, Lois

Lollie Mae, when I first learned about your passing, I pictured you as the little girl I first met in 1954.  So cute with that reddish blond hair.  Thought you were a cutie and you were.  You and I hit it off really good and am so sad that your time has come to go home and visit all the rest of the family.  You are joining a whole host of family there and that will be a glorious homecoming for you all.  You have had a very exciting military life and know how very much you loved being a military wife.  Like Karen Lee, you loved every minute of it.  The travels, the different countries, and travels across the U.S.A.  Give her a big hug for me, Ray, Robert Keith, and Kristofer.  Enjoyed our long chats over the past year.  We found out we could talk for hours and not even realize it.  That is what old friends do.  Was nice.  Our hearts go out to your family at this time and pray God will give them comfort beyond measure.  You were loved and will be missed. Robert Keith really enjoyed their numerous visits and phone chats also.  He will really miss his Aunt Lollie. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Our hearts are with Lollie's family.  As you go through the coming months, we hope you find comfort in knowing Lollie is no longer in pain and is at peace. We are praying for Lollie's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild as you go through this difficult week.

Lollie your my little sister, I was supposed to go first.  You left me behind. We discussed it last week and agreed I was to go first.  You said you would keep fighting.  I am already missing you more each day, I can't believe you are gone.  I guess neither of us can change God's plan, he called and you went home with him.  At least you will not have to suffer anymore, and your heartaches will be at rest now.  It has broken my heart to think of the tribulations you have gone through this past year. Now you can laugh again and enjoy each day. Tell Daddy, Mama, Robert Lee, Geral, Helen, Johnnie, Karen Lee, Nubbin and Ray we miss them. I loved you and already miss you so much. I prayed that if you had to go, you would go in your sleep and God answered my prayer. Like the song says, "The Circle Won't Be Broken"

We would love to be there but because of health cannot make it. We were very sorry to hear about Lollie. May the Lord be with all of you. Bud and Mellye Darden
