Louis Michael Sears

If you are lucky enough to have known Mike Sears, you know what a special individual he was. Born June 14, 1945, in Tulsa, OK. Much of Mike’s life and commitments were dedicated to serving his country and others -a legacy passed down to him from his father Louis Harold Sears and mother Altha Mae Hester Sears.

After completing his public service project, Mike became an Eagle Scout. He joined the Naval Reserve serving in the Philippines. Upon completing his tour of duty, Mike returned home to Fort Worth and attended TCU earning a bachelor’s degree. While at TCU, Mike devoted much of his time and resources to supporting and volunteering in student outreach programs. He later became a Boy Scout leader, supporting “his scouts” in their regular meetings, events, and campouts

Mike’s foundation was his strong Christian faith. Every Sunday Mike was at his church greeting members and visitor, and doing whatever needed doing. He generously gave to dozens of Christian charities. He lived every day embracing the Christian values he loved so much.

On September 5, 2026, Mike flew home to be with his heavenly father. He was 81. Mike leaves behind his sister – Joy Sears Kirksy; brother-in-law – Kirk Kirksey; nephew -Aaron Kirksey; niece and her husband – Sarah an Adam Everett; great nieces – Hattie and Emerson Everett; and countless friends. We will desperately miss him.

The family invites relatives and friends to a celebration of life for Louis Michael Sears on September 18 at 1:00pm, to be held at Doxology Bible Church Chapel 4805 Arborlawn Drive, Ft. Worth. In lieu of flowers, please donate generously to the Tarrant Area Food Bank. It’s what Mike would have wanted.
