The heavens have opened up to welcome a true saint who has certainly earned her wings.
Loveta was born on March 25th 1920, to H.E. and Vera Buckingham. She attended school in Colleyville, Texas. Loveta was no stranger to hard work having grown up on a working farm during the 1920s through the Great Depression of the 1930s.
In 1941, at the onset of WWII, she met LeRoy McKinney Vaught where they worked at the Fort Worth egg and poultry company. After Pearl Harbor, Roy joined the Navy and they married in 1942. They were stationed at Patuxent River Naval Air Station and Maryland.
At the conclusion of the war she and Roy returned to Fort Worth where they bought a home on Burchill Dr. in Fort Worth. They began their family raising two wonderful children
In 1963, Loveta and Roy built their dream home on Wicker Hill, South of Burleson Texas, Loveta once again set up house. By the late 1960s, Loveta began pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse. She earned her degree and went on as an R.N to work at Harris Hospital, then as a Charge Nurse at the Fort Worth State School, thereafter, working at the Federal Depot, and later Medical Plaza, Fort Worth
Loveta was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Vaught and son Ronald LeRoy Vaught.
She is survived by daughter Mary Jane Casey of Burleson; brother Hugh Buckingham of Burleson; grandson’s Dale Ray Casey of Burleson; John Alton Casey of Mansfield; daughter-in-law Carol Myatt Vaught of Joshua; granddaughters Melinda Paige Vaught Matus of Joshua, Victoria Megan Rogers of Joshua; great grandchildren Ashley Christine Casey Denman of Crowley, Zachary John Casey of Mansfield, Morgan Matus, Mason Matus, Tyler Rogers, Trenton Rogers, Abagail Rogers, and Ivy Green; and numerous great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Home. Visitations will be Sunday, September 15th from 2-4pm. Funeral service will be Monday, September 16th at 2pm.
