Luther Emmett Porter, Jr. left earth for an eternity in Heaven, on March 22, 2022 at the age of 88. Born in Fort Worth, he was a lifelong believer of the Pentecostal faith, and served his country in the US Air Force. He studied at Tarrant County Junior College and worked as a gear grinder for Bell Helicopter. Later, he and his brother, John, began Porter’s Lawn and Tree Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Elic Simon and Lila Coble Porter, son: Luther, Jr.; grandson: Josh Heard; Mother of his children: Jimmie McDonald Porter; Brothers: E.S., John, and Samuel; sisters: Catherine Cisco Murrell and Tinnie Pixler.
He is survived by his daughters: Shirley Porter of Springtown, Rhonda Heard and husband Tony of Beckville, Angela Barlow and husband Vern of Sierra Blanca, along with 11 Grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Hearts Way Hospice of Northeast Texas or the church of your choice.
