Margie Belle Aslin, beloved Mother, Granny, and faithful servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully at the age of 97 on Friday, August 28, 2026, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of faith, family, love, and kindness.
Margie was born in Fordyce, Arkansas, to the late James and Bobbie Hillman. As the oldest daughter in a family of 14 children, she helped care for her younger brothers and sisters. Her nurturing heart would remain one of the most beautiful parts of who she is to all of us.
She was married for 52 wonderful years to Tom Epton Aslin. Margie and “Ep”, built a life in Fort Worth, Texas filled with cherished memories. They loved time together fishing, gardening, cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks, and enjoying simple pleasures with family.
One of Margie's most treasured blessings was watching her family grow to over 50 loved ones. She was a devoted mother, sister, friend, and (perhaps her favorite title) “Granny”. Margie had such a special way with children, and she absolutely loved every hug and conversation.
She was a gentle, kind, and loving woman who consistently put others before herself. As a homemaker, she took great pride in creating a warm and welcoming home. She especially enjoyed gathering her family around the table during holidays filled with laughter, stories, and delicious home-cooked meals prepared with love.
Above all, Margie loved the Lord. A breast cancer survivor, her faith was a source of strength throughout her long life and the challenges that came with aging and blindness. Even as life became more difficult, her love for God and her family remained at the center of who she was.
Her greatest gift was her family, and her greatest legacy is the love she gave to all of us.
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” Psalm 23:6
Margie was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Tom Epton Aslin, parents: James and Bobbie Hillman, daughter-in-law: Pat Aslin, and 10 brothers and sisters. Margie is survived by her children: Son, Tommy Aslin and wife, Clara; Daughter, Pam Worley and husband, Butch; Son, Mike Aslin and wife, Janice; Son, Terry Aslin; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; Sisters, Ruby, Patsy, Louise, and Barbara; with many extended family members and dear friends who were blessed to know and love her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to American Cancer Society and Lighthouse for the Blind, continuing her legacy of love, faith, and caring for others.
A Celebration for the life of Mrs. Margie Aslin will be held on September 4, 2026 at 10:00 AM with a visitation prior beginning at 9:00 AM.
Margie’s Earthly Resting Place will be at Laurel Land Memorial Park following the Celebration for the Life of Mrs. Margie Aslin.
