Maria Portillo didn't just live life, she danced through it. On January 20, 2026, our favorite firecracker took her final bow, leaving behind a legacy of music, laughter, and a very tired dance floor.

A devoted wife to her husband, José Portillo, for over 60 years, their marriage was the ultimate duet. As a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was our loudest cheerleader and our constant source of fun. She successfully owned and operated Panaderia La Fe, proving that hard work and a vibrant spirit go hand in hand. She was the life of every party. Whether she was singing her favorite songs or leading the family in a dance, she taught us that life is meant to be celebrated. She leaves us with a song in our hearts and a reminder to never miss an opportunity to dance.

A visitation will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth, located at 7100 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76134, on January 28, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A rosary will take place at the same venue on January 28, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The funeral service is scheduled for January 29, 2026, at 2:00 pm, also at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth.

Burial will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park, situated at 7100 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76134, on January 29, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
