Marjorie Ruth Young

Service: 2 p.m. Thursday in Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Interment to follow in Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Margie was a beautician until the age of 80 at Stripling and Cox in West Fort Worth. She worked in downtown Fort Worth at Vernon's Beauty Salon for several years doing hair for clients such as Zsa Zsa Gabor, mayor's wives and beauty contestants. She won several awards throughout her career in the beauty business. She was a great mother, wife, aunt and awesome Memaw to her grandkids.

Margie was married to "Rusty" Young for 30 years. Rusty was the zone manager for S&H Green Stamps and well known for running the Big Brother and Big Sisters Charity Golf Tournaments during the '70s and '80s.

She was preceded in death by her husband, "Rusty" Young Sr.; sister, Linda Mims; brother, Warren "Bud" Hoffman; and parents, William L. and Lena Bell Hoffman.

Our mother passed away on our father's birthday. What a great birthday gift for Dad.

Survivors: Son, Russell A. Young Jr. and wife, Danielle J.; daughter, Kathi R. Shelton; grandchildren, James R. Shelton, Jennifer R. Salas, Justin W. Shelton and fiancee, Stephanie Hiles, Rachel C. Young and Russell D. Young; great-grandchildren, Eric J. Salas and Isabelle R. Salas; brother, Pete Hoffman and wife, Dorothy, from Carmel, Calif.; nieces, Patricia Silverie and husband, Dan, of Carmel, Calif., and Linda Paine and husband, Charlie, of Salinas, Calif.; and nephew, Danny Hoffman and wife, Lynn, of Prather, Calif.
