Mark Anthony Lewis, 38, of Burleson, Texas, passed away January 7, 2019. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on June 30, 1980. As a child with parents in the military, he grew up in Colorado, Texas, Germany, and North Carolina before finally moving to Burleson, Texas, at the age of 13. Mark graduated from Burleson High School in 1998. Mark later joined the United States Army at age 23 as a Military Intelligence Analyst. Soon after, he transitioned into Aviation, becoming an Apache Helicopter Pilot, earning many awards and achievements during his 15-year career. During his time in the U.S. Army, he was stationed in South Korea, Colorado, New York, Alabama, and Hawaii, and also served in Operation Enduring Freedom, in Afghanistan from 2010-2011. While serving in the military, he earned his Bachelor’s of Art degree with a focus in Aviation. Mark was married to Torie Elizabeth (Bowker) Lewis on May 5, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mark had a passion for music, cars, and physical fitness.
Preceded in death by his father, Cazee Lewis, and grandmother, Gertha McCluney. He is survived by his wife, Torie Lewis, his mother, Judy Marsh, and his brothers, Paul Marsh and Chris Allen. Mark is remembered as a loving husband, devoted son, inspirational brother, loyal friend, and veteran. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, January 25, 2019, at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Visitation will begin from 11 am to 12 pm prior to service.
