Martha Raye Bankston

Martha was born in Waco, TX on November 12, 1942. She attended Waco HS and Baylor University. She married Donald Bankston on April 12, 1963 in Waco, TX. Donald was a US Air Force veteran. They were stationed at James Connaly AFB, Homestead AFB, Howard AFB, Shaw AFB, Kessler AFB and Almaden AFS. She was a member of the NCO Wives Club and also managed the Base Exchange at Almaden AFS. They moved to Arlington after Donald’s Air Force career ended. She was a Mary Kay Beauty consultant. She enjoyed her Hallmark movies and True Crime stories.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Geraldine Ramos, and her husband Donald Bankston Sr., and her sister Delores Contreras.

Martha is survived by her son, Donald Bankston Jr. (Jeannine), three grandchildren, James Bankston, David Bankston (Lauren), and Sarah Alvarado (Ramon), and one great-granddaughter, Eliana Alvarado. She is also survived by her siblings, Angel Padilla, Nicholas Ramos Jr. (Hope), and Gloria Williams.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel in Fort Worth TX, with a Funeral Service at 9:30 AM on Thursday, August 29, 2024 with Pastor Rob Sandefur of Salt Life Church, officiating. Burial will follow at DFW National Cemetery at 11:30 AM.
