Martha was the third of eight children and one of only two daughters born to Fidencio and Rosa Medina. From a young age, she stayed home to help her mother care for the household and her younger siblings. She became her mother’s right hand, learning early in life the meaning of responsibility, sacrifice, and caring for others.
Life brought many challenges and changes over the years, but Martha found joy in her family and church. She was the loving mother and mother-in-law of Hugo Cruz and his wife Laura Cruz, Ruth Cruz and her husband Carlos Guzman, and Leslie Cruz. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Aiden, AJ, and Alyssa Cruz, and a bonus grandmother to Marco Salas and Chloe Torres. She was also a devoted member of the Church in Fort Worth.
Martha found joy in good food, beautiful things, and creating warm, welcoming spaces. She carried herself with a fabulous sense of style and grace and was known for dressing beautifully and always smelling wonderful. Even through many health struggles over the years, she continued to bring comfort, care, and beauty to those around her.
Martha is survived by six siblings and their spouses, her children, her grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosa and Fidencio Medina; her husband, Hugo Cruz; her brother, Jose Medina; and her nephews, Jose Medina and Daniel Licerio.
She will be remembered for her strength, individuality, sense of style, and the lasting impression she left on those who knew and loved her. Her memory lives on in the stories shared by family, the lessons learned through her life, and the love that remains after her passing.
