Service: 3 p.m. Wednesday at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel with interment to follow Thursday at the West Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mary K. Hipp was born June 22, 1923 in Wise Co., TX to Samuel Richmond Bowlin and Kathryn Rose H. Montford Bowlin.
Mary was a member of Eastern Star Richland Hills #1040, volunteered in PTA from the early 1950'5 until the late 1960's and was a founding member of Richland Hills Methodist Church. In the mid-70's Mary began a pursuit to trace the family history back as far as possible. After Louie retired from Delta Airlines in the late 70's they both traveled to court houses and cemeteries throughout Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Missouri, Arkansas and did archival research in Salt Lake City, Utah. All research was done without a computer or the benefit of the internet. This launched an interest in genealogy which remained until Mary's demise.
Mary was a devoted mom, chief transportation service provider, head home chef, endless administrator of encouragement and optimism, nurse to the ill and a shoulder to cry on when one got hurt. Mary wore many hats through the years, working hard every day of her life. She was what is known today as a "Stay at home Mom". Back in those days she was just a wife and mother to her family.
Preceded by her parents, three brothers, one sister, son, John Russell Hipp, and husband Louie Franklin Hipp.
Survivors: Sons, Michael Richmond Hipp and wife Andrea Lynne Cannon Hipp of North Richland Hills; grandson, Charles Jason Hipp and wife Linda Michelle Bloodworth Hipp; great-grandchildren, Trenton James Hipp, Chante' Alexis Hipp, and Jayden Don Hipp all of Weatherford.
Arrangements under the direction of Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel.
