Mary Lena was the seventh born of ten children. She frequently boasted about her large family and how proud she was of her siblings and in–laws.
Mary Lena was married to Jim Parker for the last 24 years with whom she shared many wonderful memories. She was also blessed to have many fun filled years with her former husband, Clarence Warner, who preceded her in death.
Mary Lena was a very proud mother of four children, Mike, Donna, Becky and Carla, who were her pride and joy. Although Mary Lena was very proud of her 25 year career with Tandy Corporation in Fort Worth, she was most proud of her chosen career as a mother and grandmother.
Her greatest joy was gathering with her family, friends, neighbors, and church members as she greeted everyone with a hug and her beautiful smile. Mary Lena rarely missed any event as she loved to be the life of the party and center of attention. She was a Christian, who enjoyed reading her bible, singing in her church choir and witnessing to others about Jesus.
Mary Lena also loved to travel and encouraged everyone she knew to see the world and embrace the food, the sights and the culture. Her other passions were her girl’s shopping trips, fashion, sewing, reading, writing poems, slumber parties with her sisters and visiting with her children and grandchildren.
Mary Lena is survived by her husband, James Parker. Children: Mike Carter and wife, Cheryl, daughters Donna Watson, Becky Ochsner and husband, Larry and Carla Hockman and husband, Steve. Step Children: Jimmy Parker, Donna Bonnell and David Parker (deceased), Charlie Warner and Rusty Warner.
