Mary was born Sept. 5, 1927, in Heflin, Ala., the fifth of eight children of Geneva Noles Otwell and James Samuel Otwell. She was married to Roy Plotner of Martinsburg, W.Va., in September 1944. She met her beloved Roy at Oxford Lake in Alabama at the height of World War II and they were married until his departure from this earth in 1988.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Jerry Plotner; and daughter, Sylvia Wiesenant.
Survivors: Sisters, Joyce Otwell Nelson and Jean Otwell Carey; son, Jim Plotner and wife, Cheryl; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
