Mary Jo was born on August 30, 1932 in Dale, Oklahoma. She married the love of her life, Melvin “Pete” Self on August 13, 1951 and made their home in White Settlement, Texas. Our hearts are heavy but we take comfort knowing that she is at peace. Mary Jo was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother that will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Melvin “Pete” Self; parents, Herbert and Cora Lee Thompson; brothers, George Thompson and Ernest Thompson; sister, Bonnie Scott; daughter, Donna Meester; and great-grandson, Jacob Craig.
Survivors are her son, Melvin Ray Self, Jr and wife, Connie; daughter, Cheryl Pierce and husband, Duane; daughter, Terrie Blevins and husband, Tommy; Son-in-law, Steve Meester; Grandchildren, Brian Parkhill, Candice Kirby, Kristyn Posey and husband, Will, Eric Pierce and wife, Christy, Ryan Self and wife, Ashley, Dillon Self, Amanda Craig, Dustin Blevins and wife, Kaycee, Christina Blevins; great grandchildren, Brian Parkhill, Jr and wife, Nikki, Wyatt Parkhill and wife, Norma, Garrett Parkhill, Clare Parkhill, Caleb Kirby, Hunter Posey, Madisyn Posey, Annalise Posey, Cameryn Pierce, Chyanne Pierce, Cason Pierce, Reagan Self, Riley Self and Reese Self; great-great grandchildren, Ava and Easton Parkhill.
