She graduated from Saunemin High School in 1944 and studied at the University of Illinois. She married Robert Shipman June 9, 1951 and moved to Madison, Wisconsin where they raised their three children. Mary was a devoted wife and mother and dedicated church and community volunteer. She spent countless hours baking and always shared with shut-ins, neighbors and the elderly . She could always be counted on to provide rides to those in need. She loved playing bridge and flower arranging. After retirement, she and Bob moved to Texas to be closer to family.
She is survived by her children, Jean (Don) King, Dennis (Kathy) Shipman, Don (Mary) Shipman, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents, her brother Dale and a grandchild, Kathleen.
Internment will be later in Madison, Wisconsin.
