

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Maureen Walker, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to all whose lives she touched, on February 27, 2024. She left us while sleeping peacefully. She had recently celebrated her 99th birthday surrounded by family and friends.
Maureen was born on February 23, 1925 in Houston, Texas to Guy and Ruby Briant. She was special from the beginning of life because she was one of triplet girls. Elaine, Maureen, and Kathleen Briant were a sight to behold in the 1920s. She attended Paschal High School in Fort Worth where she met her eternal love, George Walker. They married on November 18, 1942 and then welcomed their only child, Donald Walker. Maureen worked for Gulf Oil and retired from Bank of America where she was a purchasing officer. When George and Maureen retired, they moved to Lake Granbury permanently in 1991. They both loved to travel on cruises and in their camper. She frequently volunteered for the Humane Society and People Helping People. She enjoyed attending First Presbyterian in Granbury. Maureen loved living on the lake and enjoying the company of friends and family.
Maureen is preceded in death by her husband, George Walker, parents Guy and Ruby Briant, and both triplet sisters and brother, Guy Jr.
She is survived by her son, Donald Walker. Grandson Brian (Missy) Walker and Granddaughter Angela (Justin) Starr. She also leaves behind several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as countless friends and family.
A visitation for Maureen will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134. A committal service will occur Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134.
