Maurine was married to Senior Master Sargent Carl F. Gilliland, who was in the USAF and lived in London, England, for three years in the early 1950’s where he was stationed. While in London, she began her love of antiques and went to numerous auctions.
In 1961, she opened The Curiosity Shoppe in Euless and sold antiques and Art Plaster. She was well known for her artistic skills in realistically painting Plaster Animals. She attended a course on Antiques at TCU, which she enjoyed very much. She was very knowledgeable about English China and Glassware. She collected oriental hand-carved furniture.

Maurine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years, Carl Gilliland, her sister, Macile Miller, and brother, Judson Cramer.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Johnny Gilliland and wife, Janice. Granddaughters, Jamie Harris, Jeanne Wheeler, and Janice Hobbs, their husbands, and six great-grandchildren.
