Melvin was born in Manor, Pennsylvania on December 30, 1931 to Berger Franklin Edlund and Rae Marie Wertz. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and served in the Air Force for 4 years.
Mel is preceded in death by his parents and his three fishing buddies, Bob Kraemer, Gerry Dix and Gene Hake.
He is survived by his spouse Marilyn Edlund, sons Chris (Lisa), Scott (Laurie), David (Karen), Clark (Sandy), 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
