

Graveside service: 3 p.m. Saturday in Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation: 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
Chrys was born Aug. 18, 1927, in Grandview to Floyd D. and Nina Moreland Moore. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. As a young woman, Chrys left her rural birthplace to move to the big city of Fort Worth, where she met and was courted by her future husband. As a military wife, Chrys made a loving home for her family while residing in five states and Japan. During that time she was an active volunteer supporting military family services, especially for young families separated by combat service. In later years, Chrys worked in sales at Cox's department store. She loved the company of family and friends, and took a lively interest in her family history and genealogy.
Chrys was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 59 years, Granville L. "Red" Ballard, on Nov. 2, 2012.
Survivors: Son, David Ballard and wife, Lynn Jones; daughter, Anna L. Ballard; son, Phillip Ballard and wife, Debbie; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Stephens; and numerous other family members and friends.
