Mozelle Rodgers Dixon, 88, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. She was born April 16, 1932 in Conyers, Georgia to her parents, Edgar Quigg and Gladys Rodgers. She attended Conyers High School and Marsh Draughon Business College in Atlanta, Georgia. She worked at the Corps of Engineers in Atlanta for a few years before attending St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Atlanta. It was there she met the love of her life Dr. Boise Dixon. They were married in 1958 and moved to Fort Worth, Texas. Mozelle enjoyed gardening, reading, and sewing. She was a seamstress and sewed for many weddings. As a Registered Nurse, she worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Fort Worth. She took time off to raise a family then returned to work and retired as an Admitting Nurse for Plaza Medical Center of Fort Worth. She loved dogs and field trials.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dr. Boise Dixon; and her sister, Juanita Ellis.
Mozelle is survived by her daughters, Anne Dixon Medlin and her husband, Mike, and Beth Dixon; grandchildren, Bill Grimes and wife, Summer, Stephanie McElwrath and husband, Cecil, and Russell Grimes; many loving great-grandchildren; nephew, Doug Dodson; and best friend, Clara Fisher.
Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 8 pm on Monday, October 5th at Laurel Land Funeral Home, Fort Worth. The Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, October 6th at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel of Fort Worth. The Graveside Service will follow in Laurel Land Memorial Park, 7100 Crowley Rd., Fort Worth, TX 76134.
