

She was born in Venus, Texas on August 20, 1924 to Bushrod and Zelma Thompson (nee Griffith) and as a young child moved with her family to Plainview, where she graduated from Plainview High School..
After meeting Lee, a blue eyed flight instructor at Lamesa Army Air Field during the war, they married and moved to Ft Worth where she continued her Civil Service career. As they started their family, she stayed home to raise Lee, Jr. and Ralph, then later returned to Civil Service where she worked as an accountant with General Services Administration until the early ‘90’s and retired with 40 Years of Service.
Mozelle was active in Sagamore Hill Baptist Church and taught the three year old class Sunday School for forty years. She was also active in the children’s choir program and taught Vacation Bible School for many years.
She was preceeded in death by her husband of almost 48 years, Lee, Sr., her parents, Bushrod & Zelma Thompson, two brothers and a sister. She is survived by two sons, Lee, Jr., Ralph (Sue), grandson, Travis (Sabrina), granddaughter, Rebecca, and great grandson, Everett, several nieces and nephews and many friends in the Fort Worth area.
A private family service was held January 8 at the family cemetery, where five generations of Thompsons are buried.
