
Clara Claudine Mitcherson-Cox a native of Marshall, Texas, was born to the parentage of Claude and Sophie Dawson on June 25, 1932. She was the youngest of 2 children born to this union. The family later relocated to Fort Worth, Texas.
At an early age in life, Claudine confessed a saving hope in Christ Jesus and was baptized in Marshall, TX. She was a member of Pleasant Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church and in 1971 she moved her membership to New Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member serving on Hospitality Committee, the Decorating Ministry and Kitchen Aide. She loved modeling, cooking and traveling.
Claudine received her formal education attending school at Pemberton High School in Marshall, Texas. After completing her studies she moved to Fort Worth where she worked as a CNA at a local hospital and worked in private homes as a Caregiver. She later fulfilled her passion for fashion and pursued retail. She worked for Stripling and Cox Department Store and Monning’s Department Store. She was a member of Eastern Star and Courts of Colanthians.
Claudine met and married Charles Allen Mitcherson and to this union four of five children were born. When the Lord called Mr. Mitcherson home she later met Willie B. Cox, they courted, they loved and they married for fifty five years and they remained as one flesh until God called him home. Claudine was well loved and was known for her good cooking, the love for her family and was happiest sharing good times with her family and friends.
On Saturday, October 6, 2018 Claudine Mitcherson-Cox surrendered the call of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and transitioned from earth to glory. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Claude and Sophie Dawson; brother, J.B. Dawson.
She shall forever be loved with a special love and precious memories by: Sons Vaughn Monroe Suttice of Grand Prairie, TX, Reggie Allen Mitcherson (Selena) of Frisco, TX. Her daughters, Charles Etta Mitcherson of San Diego, CA, Marsha Kay Mitcherson of Irving, TX and Sonja Denise Holmes (George) of Fort Worth, TX., 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
