Mrs. Irene Powell went home to be with Her Lord on August 15, 2018 at the age of 88. Celebration of her Life will be on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church 2951 Evans Avenue. Pastor W.T. Glynn. Burial: Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Visitation for Mrs. Powell will be on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 5:00PM to 6:00 PM Gregory W. Spencer Funeral Directors. Those left to cherish her memory are: loving children, Fiji Whatley and husband John, Lawrence Powell, Jr. and wife Renae; brother Clifford L. Washington; 13 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 1 great-great- grandchild; a host of other relatives and dear friends.
