Myrle Gene Stricklin

Myrle Gene Vaughn Stricklin, age 91, of Azle Texas, went to her heavenly home on Monday, October 12, 2020. Myrle Gene was born in Pawnee, Bee County, Texas (near Kenedy Texas) on May 24, 1929, to Luther L. Vaughn and Omagene Atchison Vaughn. She was the youngest of four children: Glady's Lucille Vaughn Garrett and Marcus Ray Vaughn (both deceased) and Roy Carter Vaughn the only surviving sibling.

Myrle Gene Vaughn lived in Weslaco, Texas through her elementary years and moved with her Mother to Grand Prairie, Texas where she graduated with Merit and Honors in May 1946. On June 3, 1946 she married Al Stricklin of Dallas, Texas, remaining married for 72 years, until his passing on July 17, 2018.

Mryle Gene Stricklin devoted her life in Christian service to her husband's Pastoral ministry for over 50 years, serving as Sunday School Teacher, Children's Director, and Intercessory Prayer. She had a compassionate love for people and children of all ages. Myrle also loved gospel music and enjoyed singing hymns of praise with her husband and children. She loved sewing and was very creative.

Myrle Stricklin was a loving wife and devoted Mother to six children: Carma Grimes, and husband Tom, Merlane Cox and husband Jim, Timothy Stricklin, Joel Stricklin and wife Lori, Pamela Gholson and husband David, Debra Coffie and husband Tony. Myrle Gene Stricklin felt blessed to have 18 Grandchildren; Michelle Turner, Tommy Grimes, Angela Sommer, Melissa Klauss, Jamie Dunlap, Lori Cox, Lisa Thomas, Diana Biggs, Richard Stricklin, Tamara Pearce, Tiffany Stanton, Tiara Stricklin, Janay Bullard, Jennifer Janes, Jace Coffie, Valencia Lamm, Ericka Williams, Terika Williams and 37 Great-Grandchildren. Myrle also leaves behind many beloved Nieces and Nephews.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother. She was a beautiful person both inside and out. She was an amazing cook and her love showed in everything she did. Surely heaven is celebrating her arrival.
